Tugaske Project

Tugaske Project Highlights

The Tugaske Project is a modular potash project, located on Gensource’s Vanguard potash mining lease area in south-central Saskatchewan.

Situated on 35 sq km within the Vanguard lease area (over 324 sq km area) it will initially comprise 2 potash production modules of 250,000 t/y each for a total of 500,000 t/y

Designed minimum production of 500,000 metric tonne per annum of saleable MOP using Gensource’s selective solution extraction method. Will be scalable to 1 million t/y

Tugaske Project

Bankable Feasibility Study completed in 2018 and updated in October 2021 for the first module
  • Technical and economic feasibility of the Tugaske Project confirmed
  • Technical Update currently in process for expansion to 500,000 t/yr with upcoming NI 43-101 to follow
Environmentally and socially responsible
  • Leaves no tailings on surface (minimizing decommissioning risk)
  • Avoids up to 1 million tonnes/year of waste salt tailings at 500,000 t/yr production
  • Requires no brine ponds (eliminating significant environmental issues) while decreasing decommissioning risk
  • Small physical footprint (eases public concern/social risk)
Critical infrastructure already in place
  • Located on or very close to
    −Road and rail access
    −Natural gas, power and water
  • Saskatchewan is well set-up for potash production, with technical and logistical resources readily available.
Fully permitted and shovel ready on the first 250,000 tonne module
  • Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment determined no Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) was required due to the Tugaske Project’s negligible environmental impact
  • The project was determined to be ‘not a development’ because it does not trigger the need for an EIA – proof of the environmentally sustainable approach
Technically and economically robust project design – robust economics
  • Tested and proven extraction methods
  • State of the art processing techniques
  • Committed off take partner
  • Results in robust economics
Tugaske Mineralization and Resource

Resource of up to 360 million tonnes of saleable potash on less than 10% of Gensource’s lease/permit area

  • Measured potash mineral of approximately 207.5 million tonnes grading 35.7% KCl
  • Indicated Potash Mineral of approximately 153.9 million tonnes grading 35.8% KCl

Technical Report Update

A technical report update is currently underway after the completion of an exclusivity agreement (“EA”) with a large and diversified Southeast Asian conglomerate (“ASEAN Partner”) with respect to the Company’s Tugaske Project (the “Project” or “Tugaske”). Under the terms of the EA, the ASEAN Partner is committed to fund a Technical Update - a defined engineering scope of work aimed at updating technical details of the Project to match the ASEAN Partner’s investment requirements

The update will refresh construction and operating cost estimates and develop capital budgets for a minimum 500,000 metric tonnes per year facility – double the size of the original Tugaske Project

The report is currently over 60% complete and is expected to be published in the fall of 2026

Mining Method Selective Solution Mining

Selective solution mining is an advanced form of solution mining that is designed to dissolve potassium chloride (KCl) while leaving most of the sodium chloride (NaCl) behind. Unlike conventional solution mining, which dissolves both salts and requires extensive surface processing to separate them, selective solution mining aims to recover a much higher-grade potash brine directly from the underground deposit

The process begins by drilling a pair of wells into the potash-bearing formation. A specially formulated heated brine—already saturated with sodium chloride—is injected into the ore body. Because the brine is already saturated with NaCl, it has very little capacity to dissolve additional salt. Instead, it preferentially dissolves the potassium chloride, producing a potassium-rich brine that is pumped back to the surface through a production well
